It is uncertain, at this point, if Martial Law will be declared in the United States. I wouldn't be surprised myself. There is no doubt that they will be calling it "Homeland Security" under the guise of policing the public and preventing crime and riots. Is this the beginning of a totalitarian regime? And can we do anything to prevent this happening in Canada?
It really is infuriating how the mass media has been completely hijacked by the government. And I don't mean Obama, he's just a fucking puppet, I mean the men behind the curtain that are running the American government. We must make sure this doesn't happen to our nation.

I thought this was pretty funny so I had to share it

Though, I gotta say, this is EXACTLY what all religious people need to hear right now. I never thought I'd be commending the church, but there it is

The Euro
Here is something I hadn't considered, and it is something that we all should monitor from this point on.
I was talking with my good friend Dan West, currently living overseas in England, about the state of things when it occured to me to ask how the situation looks over there. He has been kind enough to write out his thoughts.
"There are 27 countries that form the European Union. If you can remember history classes, or if you've ever read a newspaper or seen any number of films that have been released in the last century or so, you'll remember that for the last 1,000 years or so (at least) most of these countries have been at war with each other in various drawn-out conflicts. All the old grudges and hatreds from the most recent war (i.e. WWII) are very much still embedded in the memories of the peoples of Europe. So the idea of this federalist organization of states is idealistic at best."
"The talk of uniting all these countries to form one massive economic powerhouse began a decade or two ago. The pretense was for an economic system in Europe to mirror the great Western hope that was the United States of America. It wasn't long before this federalism spilled into actual politics and issues of sovereignty. The concept of a single constitution of laws that envelops the entirety of Europe might seem like a good idea to some, but we're talking about a very diverse continent here. Each country itself is incredibly diverse as well. Dozens of languages and customs. It's naive to think that one general set of laws could ever possibly succeed in governing such diversity. There's no proactive governing here, basing laws on the needs of individuals, or communities, or even cities or provinces -- the citizens so far removed from the bureaucrats in charge that there is actually no point even trying to contact the members of the council. And let's keep in mind that not one single citizen of any of the countries that have ratified (appropriate word) this treaty ever had a say. Only the Prime Ministers, and in some cases the houses of parliament had a say. England's current unelected incompetent PM ratified this treaty on his own, probably because his good buddy (and potential candidate for the new position 'President of Europe' created by the constitution) Tony Blair threatened to shit in his cornflakes if he didn't."
"The relevence to Canada here is that I can see this sort of confederate mindset eventually uniting North America under one loose set of laws and treaties that facilitates economic co-operation."
The creation of this North American Economy is already underway.
This is the beginning of the New World Order, and this is a government that has been in the works for a very long time. It is textbook world domination.
As the US dollar loses its value, combined with the simultaneous collapse of the European economy, is it inevitable that a world currency be created. One that combines with the Euro and the Yuen? The largest holder of the American debt is China. What new form of federalist and totalitarian oppression will we soon face in the shadow of such a monster ?

What to focus on
This is the nature of all things
Everything everywhere ends
And now that we know what has happened
The injustice that has occurred
Can be righted
We can now finally begin to rebuild
A sane society
Watch this short video entry. This guy Loren is a very intelligent dude, and one that recognizes the opportunity that will arise from this collapse, to reclaim our dignity and the human rights of all people

Riots
While I hope and pray that this will never happen in our country, I feel compelled to remind all of us of what human beings are actually capable of doing. This same image of riots and military oppression from the year 2001 is beginning to resurface across the globe, with the recent food shortages, massive work layoffs, and soaring poverty rates.
This is happening in Egypt,

In Mexico,

Haiti,

And even India,

...to name a few. These are not riots that are race related or in the interest of cultural sovereignty. This is the middle class in direct conflict with the upperclass because they cannot afford to buy food. Will we one day see these images outside our windows in the streets? Hard to say.
I have always tried to maintain my belief that Canadians are the most peaceful and intelligent people on the face of the planet. But from all that I've seen so far, I cannot underestimate the brutality we are capable of. It's actually pretty bizarre that we've haven't blown ourselves to tiny pieces already. We've come very close to doing just that.
What we must do, as a people, is come together and support each other. We must reject the system and begin our own, and that system must be based entirely on compassion. We must not hoard and we must not steal. When thousands of people gather in one spot, they should not be rioting. They should be healing and feeding each other.

Linda Molten Howe interviews Gerald Celente
Just got a message from Anton to check out Earthfiles.com and Linda's interview with the famous economist Gerald Celente. For those of you that don't know, Linda Molten Howe is the greatest fucking journalist I've ever heard of. Seriously, check out all of her stuff, most of it you can find on Earthfiles. It's like reading the Weekly World News, but with every single article backed 100% by references, testomonials, and interviews.

More links before I go to bed

I'm going to start focusing the majority of my posts on Canada, and how this economic collapse will affect the Canadian economy.
I've found a few things tonight
The Hour featuring David Chilton, author of the book, "The Wealthy Barber"
He comes off as most successful businessmen do, smug and slightly arrogant, but he does make a good point of mentioning the necessity of staying out of debt.
Staying out of debt is going to be essencial to your survival in the next ten years. Gerald Celente, one of the foremost economists in New York, believes this depression might take about 20 years to run its course, and whether in that time a revolution happens or not the monetary system, doomed as it may be, will still be in effect for the majority of our lifetime. To get deeper into debt is probably the quickest way of losing your home and your job and winding up a begger. Spend within your means, don't go crazy and think that you can actually afford a big screen tv or a new car. What you really should be concerned about is how much it's going to cost for a loaf of bread in five years.
I got a post from Kay O'Sweaver as well, he put me on to a very thourough but condensed film about the monetary system: Money as Debt
This film is fantastic, a step by step explanation of how money was created, and so well laid out an elementary school student could follow it. No small wonder that none of us ever saw videos like this in school. Another example of how we have never actually lived in a democracy at any point in our lives.
One thing I really wanted to say tonight is how fortunate we are to live in a nation such as Canada. The difference between the legitimacy of our media vs. the States, even the UK, is MIND BOGGLING. They can't even call this a depression in the States, they keep refering to it as a downturn or a lull or a dry period. It's all pretty sad, and really makes me appreciate living in a country where the news can get to its citizens at least somewhat unbiased. At least here the government controls the media, not a cartell of networks and political puppets.
Lastly, keep an eye on Stephen Harper. His battle plan includes meeting with G20 and first fixing the broken banks (think more like a junkie having one last hit) and maintaining free trade, which may help keep food coming in and out of the country.
Ugh...times flies
Nite
The Scientific Method

The search for truth
Is as futile as trying to see your own eyes
The truth is not something underground that we can dig up
It is not a song we can write, or a god we invent
It is not something we lose or gain
Nor something that we can defend or destroy
The truth is
There is no truth
The truth is
Everything in the known universe
Is in a continuous state of flux
In so much as the act of observing a particle
Will even change its position
We will die before our quest's end
True purpose
True justice
True love
We will never find it
Because
It is not something one can find
We will have never have the "truth"
Like a bead of water dropped on a hot rock
It vaporizes on contact
That is the only truth we can ever know
All we have, or ever will have, is a hypothesis
Hypothesis
A proposal based on observations which then becomes the basis for further investigation
As so many have not fully understood
Science is not "truth"
It is a hypothesis
Inherent in its equation, a hypothesis is void of answer
An unending cycle of experimentation and investigation
That strives not to seek an ending
But rather enrich and savor the experience of discovery
Science is the search for more questions
Not answers
Open your mind
See the world unclouded
And you will not discover the truth
You will become one with it
More on the Economic Collapse

I've found a few more things you guys should look at:
First, I found this guy's channel on youtube, 44like24's, basically reiterating the same information I've posted, but in this video he mentions something really important I hadn't thought of. Go out to your grocer and BUY SEEDS.
Here's another article I found. The page its on is pretty lame, I know, but there are some good ideas in there. It gives a brief list on ways you can prepare for the worst. The one point they make that I really want to punctuate, and it makes perfect sense, is going out and meeting your neighbors. Not just saying hello, but talking to them. Watching out for them and their family, regardless of their color or creed. If this thing hits us as bad as some predict, suddenly every Canadian's social world will become extremely localized. Whereas nowadays we never used to even look up at our neighbors to get off our cellphones, we are going to have to build a community from the ground up and that means talking to one another. Not with text messaging and not with facebook (dang...) but actually talking.
Another good point to mention is to get out of debt as quickly as possible. Here's what I've done just this morning, taken out a line of credit at the bank which I'll use it to pay off my credit cards within a year. The rate is a quarter of the interest rate I'm paying on the credit cards, and I can monitor every transaction. And if you want my advice, once your credit cards are paid off, cut them in half immediately. Pay for everything in cash.
Read this too. This article really puts in perspective the relationship with our economy and China and the Middle East. It's frightening. But if you don't feel like reading all of it I'll sum it all up for you right now: Start learning to speak Mandarin.
If you want more news, even try typing "economic collapse" in a search engine. I've been finding more and more stuff on it. Sad, yes, but at least this information is accessible. Some of it is pretty long winded but they basically show that economists have been predicting this would happen since the 90's. There is more interesting stuff about the Federal Bank too, but I'm having trouble finding anything on the IMF (International Monetary Fund). If you find something, let me know.
In my experiences I have found, as I'm sure you have, that ignoring the issue is the fastest road to hell. Nowadays, I tend to forgo idealism and accept that the worst possible scenario is a very possible outcome. I'm sure most politicians and their mass-media would have us think otherwise. Of course they would, they're paid to. And while I truly do hope and pray that the Lord Jesus will come down from heaven and save us all in his magical flying saucer, it might be wise to have a back up plan.
Fuck, I pray, I fucking pray, they don't get together to start up some kind of Militant Fascist Christian Party. Ugh...don't want to think about that right now.
Be good to each other.
Don't fool yourself...the game is ending
Getting rather serious now...
I don't pretend to be an activist, nor am I the slightest bit of a good example for activism. All I know is that if I come upon something that can help the people I care about, then I have to share it. I'm sure most of you who actually take the time to read this will be pretty amused. Oh god, Cody's harping on the conspiracy theory shit again. Trust me. I'm not. I'm not writing this to amuse you or even myself. I'm writing this because I don't want you to get hurt.
I'm sure there's a bunch of you that know this, but for those of you who haven't clued in yet, there is a massive and unavoidable collapse of the entire world economy underway. Whether we will see the effects of it in 2009 or the next few years isn't certain, but we are about to see a great depression on a scale the human race has never seen. It won't be long before we see the effects, not on television or youtube, but in the streets outside. I would say revolution is necessary, but that revolution is already happening. It is not a flag that we can unite under, or a leader we can follow, and definitely not a war we will fight. This is an internal revolution. This is a revolution of knowing the truth, and being as proactive as we possibly can be. It is a revolution of taking our heads out of the sand and standing up for our inalienable human rights. It is a revolution of realizing that we must help and protect each other if we are going to survive this. Keep in mind, I don't say this so that I can act as a catalyst for this collapse. I'm not trying to rally any of you or start a protest.
I'm here to warn you. Because it's coming, whether we want to admit it or not.
First, watch this. Try not to let the fact that this video is out of sinc with the audio distract you from its message.
This is another video I've found. Rather than hyperventilating the issue, Dmitry Orlov actually gives some examples of how to cope with the impending economic collapse, by looking to the recovery of the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Visit these websites. I've only just stumbled upon them but I want to share them with you because hopefully they might shed some light on the situation, and help you in the future.

I never thought I'd feel so strongly about something in my life, but then again, what else in my life have I EVER felt so strongly about? Music? The arts? I used to watch these documentaries and news reals and listen to political music because it was entertaining, and I'd laugh and talk about it with my friends and feel oh so important, but never actually DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Those days of deluding myself are over. I might piss you off and annoy you from now on, because I promise you, I won't stop talking about this. I have made my decision. I don't want to depress or anger anyone. I want people to realize that waiting for some politician to bring about some hackneyed solution is futile and ludicrous. I shouldn't have to tell anybody this, but to think for a single second that Barack Obama is going to make things better is a pure waste of time. It is the people with the true power for change, and I believe (I HAVE to believe) that we as a species are not beyond hope. We can one day bring about the civilized society that all mankind deserves. I've always felt like there was something missing in my life. I know now that there has never been a more rewarding field to work in than the arena of social change.
Always have an open mind, and always be aware that you may believe something one day and have those beliefs challenged the next. The fool speaks to be heard, the wise man speaks so he may listen.
